EUropean Projects

Objectives
BIO-INTEL-MOB addresses key mobility and governance challenges in urban and peri-urban areas by overcoming data fragmentation, improving multimodal efficiency, enabling green-safe mobility, and strengthening citizen-centric decision-making. Through 3 mega pilots (Rome, Cascais and Riga/Vilnius) and satellite pilots (Melsungen, Ciampino, Urla, and Rhodes), the project deploys scalable, climate-neutral solutions built on AI, data integration, circular logistics and participatory governance.

MultiSmartData
Optimise multimodal mobility through integrated data ecosystems
BIO-INTEL-MOB will create a unified city data ecosystem that integrates IoT, satellite, mobility and logistics datasets through the aMDS platform.
Using predictive analytics and multi-source data fusion, the project will optimise multimodal transport operations, improve connectivity between urban and peri-urban areas, and support evidence-based transport planning.
The aMDS Dashboard will allow authorities to analyse mobility dynamics, test policy scenarios, and optimise resource allocation.
The project will develop and deploy Peri-Urban Mobility Hubs (PUMHs) and a Green-Safe Routing Algorithm (GSRA) to enhance safety, accessibility and modal integration.
AI/IoT-driven detection systems, adaptive routing, and solar-powered infrastructure support greener and safer mobility—especially for vulnerable road users.
VR/AR participatory tools will empower citizens to co-design mobility solutions and public-space reorganisation.

SafeCitiMob
Achieve climate-neutral, safe, and inclusive mobility through GSRA and PUMHs

EcoLogis e FlexiMob
Develop sustainable and efficient logistics through circular economy models
BIO-INTEL-MOB will transform peri-urban logistics through Green-Safe Logistics Corridors, bioPLU, micro-hubs, and e-cargo-bike integration.
Real-time tracking, smart space reallocation, and the GSVRP (Green-Safe VRP) will improve low-emission freight flows and reduce packaging waste through circular solutions.
CO₂ monitoring tools will ensure EU-compliant carbon footprint tracking and support greener last-mile operations.

Smart City Governance
Enable adaptive, digital, and participatory governance for next-generation cities

Soluzioni di intelligenza artificiale
Deliver comprehensive impact assessment for sustainable, inclusive, and scalable solutions
Through AI-driven simulations and continuous monitoring, BIO-INTEL-MOB will assess environmental, social, economic, and operational impacts across all pilots.
The project will evaluate GHG reductions, safety and accessibility improvements, and economic viability, ensuring solutions can be scaled beyond the pilot regions.
BIO-INTEL-MOB will prepare policy recommendations and operational guidelines to ensure long-term regulatory compliance, interoperability, and scalability across Europe.
A Digital Policy Compliance Tool, integrated in SCGo, will support automated regulation tracking, while the Knowledge Hub will provide training, tools, and best practices for policymakers.
